Improved PayPal Cancellation Handling
In this update, we’ve enhanced how our system handles PayPal transaction cancellations to better align with customer actions. Previously, if a customer cancelled a PayPal transaction but later decided to complete it using the same payment link, the system might still process the payment. This could lead to confusion for both the customer and the merchant.
With this update, when a customer cancels a PayPal payment, our system will immediately mark the transaction as “Cancelled” or “Failed.” This ensures that the cancellation is final and reflects accurately in our system. If the customer revisits the PayPal link after cancellation, the system will recognize the transaction as cancelled, and no further attempts to capture the payment can be made.
This improvement helps prevent unintended payments and ensures that the customer’s cancellation decision is respected, providing a more reliable and predictable payment experience for both merchants and customers.
Important Bugfixes
Improved Handling of Payment Cancellations on the CCV payment page
In this update, we’ve enhanced how payment cancellations are managed on the CCV payment page:
If a customer cancels a payment before it’s completed, the transaction will now immediately reflect a “Failed” status. This ensures that cancellations are promptly and accurately recorded.
If a payment is successfully processed but a cancellation request is received afterward, the payment will remain marked as “Successful.” However, any refunds due to cancellations will be handled correctly.
These improvements ensure clearer and more accurate transaction statuses, enhancing the overall payment experience.
CCV Input Field Visibility with Right-Click Paste
The system is designed to automatically detect whether a CVV is required based on the entered card number. If a CVV is necessary, the input field will be displayed to prompt users for the additional information.
Previously, this automatic detection only worked correctly when card details were manually typed or pasted using keyboard shortcuts. However, it did not function properly with the “right-click + paste” action, which was not triggering the CVV field to appear.
This update resolves the issue by ensuring that the CVV input field is now correctly displayed when using “right-click + paste” to enter card numbers. The fix ensures that the CVV requirement is detected and handled consistently, regardless of how the card information is entered.
End Of Life Notice: GiroPay & SOFORT
Recently, significant changes have been announced regarding the payment options GiroPay and SOFORT, primarily used by German customers. Both payment options will be deprecated by end of 2024.
