CCV Connect Gift cards > 50€

Due to European legislation, open-loop gift cards must be limited to a maximum value of €50. Until now, CCV Connect’s integration with CCV Online Payments enforced this restriction for all merchants, as all use cases involved open-loop gift cards.

However, with business growth, we’ve encountered new use cases where merchants utilize closed-loop gift cards through CCV Connect, which do not require this limitation.

As a result, we’ve updated the configuration, allowing CCV Connect to support both open-loop gift cards (with a €50 limit) and closed-loop gift cards (with no value restriction).

Improved Cancellation handling for Klarna

In response to merchant feedback, we’ve enhanced how CCV Online Payments handles transactions that are canceled during the Klarna payment flow.

Previously, when a customer canceled a payment via Klarna, the session would remain active with the status “BACK,” allowing the customer to return to the payment page. This behavior is based on Klarna’s eCommerce flow, where the BACK status allows consumers to revisit the payment page, even after cancellation. Klarna only marks transactions as “CANCELLED” in certain in-store use cases, leaving the eCommerce flow sessions open unless disabled by the integrator.

To improve the payment experience and provide more control to merchants, we’ve made the following changes:

  • If a customer returns from Klarna with a status of “BACK,” the payment session will now be disabled, marking the transaction as FAILED with the appropriate failure code (CANCELLED).
  • If the customer wishes to complete the payment after this, a new transaction must be initiated, allowing them to choose Klarna or any other payment method.

These updates ensure a clearer, more definitive handling of canceled Klarna transactions, aligning with our aim to offer seamless and efficient payment processes for both merchants and customers.
