Update on the European Accessibility Act (EAA)

With the EAA coming into force on 28 June 2025, it’s time to take action. Did you know over 50% of major online shops are still inaccessible to people with disabilities?

CCV is working hard on implementing a new future-proof and accessible payment page which addresses the topics covered in the EAA. Stay tuned – this is planned to be released early 2025.

Payment Page: Personalized Payment List

In e-commerce, personalization is no longer optional – and that includes payments. This release introduces a new customization option for the Payment Page, allowing integrators to display specific payment methods in a custom order by using the “allowed payment methods” field in the API. Tailor the payment experience to reflect customer preferences, such as prioritizing PayPal for frequent PayPal users or highlighting Bancontact and iDEAL for regional customers, creating a seamless and relevant checkout process.

This feature not only enhances the customer journey but also builds trust and encourages long-term loyalty. By offering a payment experience that feels personal and convenient, you’re not just completing a transaction – you’re creating a reason for customers to return.

CCC Refund Transaction Handling

On the CCC (CCV Cloud Connect Terminal), Refund transactions now display the “merchantOrderReference” from the Refund request itself. Previously, Refunds would report the “merchantOrderReference” from the original Sale, which caused issues when a different reference was provided for the Refund, often due to transactions conducted on different terminals. If the Refund request does not include a “merchantOrderReference”, the reference from the original Sale is shown.

Remove Payout Delay from Refund Transactions

Refund transactions will now bypass any configured payout delays, frequency, or grouping to ensure timely processing. Previously, refunds were only deducted from balances once the payout date was reached, potentially delaying refunds unnecessarily. Now, refunds will be deducted in the next available payout run, allowing merchants to receive these funds as soon as possible. This change ensures refund balances are managed without delay, addressing business requirements for faster fund returns to customers.
