Validate Gift Card Balance
We’ve introduced a new functionality to the Gift payment method, enabling merchants to quickly check the balance of a gift card without claiming it. This is particularly useful for displaying the balance to customers during the checkout process.
Using the newly created “GiftAmountCheckService”, the balance of a gift card is verified through the Validate transaction type. The balance is retrieved from the acquirer and shown as approvedAmount. Validation will only fail if the card is invalid or has insufficient funds.
This improvement ensures that balance checks can be performed without causing unnecessary back-office clutter, resulting in a more efficient process.
Improved handling of pending PayPal and Klarna transactions
To enhance clarity and efficiency, pending transactions with PayPal and Klarna will now automatically fail after 30 minutes. This ensures that merchants receive a clear status update quickly, avoiding prolonged uncertainty. By automatically cancelling the transaction at PayPal or Klarna, we prevent the need for manual interventions and streamline the process for both CCV and merchants. This improvement minimizes operational overhead and provides a better experience for all parties.
